Job Requisition: Radar Systems Engineer

Probitas is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer in either the Northern Virginia or Virginia Beach, Virginia areas. In this position, the Radar SE will be responsible for independently developing technologies and solutions for multiple programs. The Radar SE must be capable of analytical thinking, problem solving, and evaluating system level tradeoffs for hardware and software.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
10+ years of experience (with MS) preferred.
Knowledge of Radar Signal Processing
Ability to evaluate system performance tradeoffs such as ROC analysis, Power on Target, Signal to Clutter Ratios.
Evaluate the design of Radar system and system components and perform analysis to optimize their characteristics.
Knowledge of radar operation modes and techniques (MTI, SAR, Pulse Doppler, etc.) and an understanding of array processing.
Expertise in Matlab or Python.
Ability to independently lead tasking for self and others.
Communication skills are essential within Probitas, with subcontractors, and with Sponsors.
Proven ability to transition approaches to new phases of development.
Desired Skills:
Primary tasking under these projects will be on Radar applications. Experience working on Radar systems is preferable, but not essential. Backgrounds in Sonar, Communications, or other comparable systems may be suitable.
Systems engineering experience across the entire lifecycle (requirements statements, specifications, test plans and procedures).
Experience supporting technical proposal authoring (e.g. SBIR).
Position Requirements:
Travel is expected to be limited (<=10%) but flexibility is necessary to support multiple programs and contracts.
Location is in Northern VA or Virginia Beach, VA. Telecommuting is possible based on agreement.
Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance minimum.
